House Flooded?

Never fear, help is near!
Water flowing through your home
is never welcome and is often a traumatic experience.
However, all is not
lost! It is possible to remove the water from your home,
dry the carpeting and
even save it, the walls and contents of your home.
It depends on the amount of
water in the carpeting and the time it has been there.
It also depends on
what is in the water; is it from a river, leaky roof, toilet, broken faucet, etc.
We are on call 24 hours a day
for your flooding problems. We can help you assess the damage,
create a plan to repair that damage, and get to work
right away. We can even bill your insurance company for you, if you like.
Here are a few things you should know if you have a flooding emergency:
Be Careful!
Water and electricity are a dangerous combination. Be very cautious
and shut off the electricity and/or call your electric company if you think
there could be a hazard. Wet carpeting and wet floors are slippery and
can cause you or your family injury. Wear rubber-soled shoes and walk
carefully. If you have a sewage problem, stay completely away from the
backup; raw sewage contains harmful bacteria which can cause serious health
problems to you and your family.
Stop the Source of the
Water! Now is the time to look for the various water shutoffs in
your home. The sooner you can stop the water flow, the less damage it
will cause. If you are at a complete loss as to what to do, call us
and we will do our best to talk you through the process on the phone.
You may also call a local plumber to come out and shut things off for you.
Take Action Right
Away! Call us, Tomy's Carpet Care,
immediately at 636-7785. We are on call for your water emergency 7
days a week, 24 hours a day. Time is of the essence, the sooner we get
started, the less damage to your carpet and home will occur.
Move Out the Furniture! Wood furniture will "bleed" color into your carpet and this color will likely be permanent. Rust stains from metal furniture legs, etc. are very difficult to remove and may also become permanent. Getting the furniture to dry ground as soon as possible will decrease the chances of this happening. If the wet area is very large, it may be convenient to have a moving company come out and remove the furniture to their storage facility for a period of time.
